Cattleya Volcano Pride ‘V.Q.’ x Brassavola nodosa ‘4N’ with some mutations this time around.

My friend bought this for me as a birthday gift from an orchid show that we went to last year. I’ll include a picture of how the blooms looked in the comments below.

It grew two really big and healthy new growths, but neither bloomed, the sheathes just dried up. It’s put out another growth, somewhat smaller this time, but has given me these two gorgeous flowers. Looks like a third on the way! Unusual for this type of plant, I think?

The flowers are significantly richer in color this time, and both flowers have a nearly peloric looking mutation to the pedals. I wonder if I fed it too much over time. Hmm!
