Update on how this little cold frame is doing!
Everything has sprouted and I’ve already had to thin out about half of the seedlings. Everything looks healthy and no mold on the soil.
I ended up adding a 10 gallon bin of water at the bottom for passive heating at night. What I observed is that the water regulates the temp well and dropped the high temps by about 10°F and kept the greenhouse warmer by about 5°F at night.
This has been a fun learning experience with a cheap little thing that I wasn’t 100% sure would work well!

We have two of the exact same greenhouses for 3 years now! Great seedling starters!
Impressive. What zone are you?
The Biggest issues with these is too much weight up top and the entire thing collapses in a heap of dirt!
Can you share the kit or parts you purchased? I’m looking for something like this to start seeds soon.
Where did you get that little greenhouse?
Looks nice. Paver stone is a good idea.
Just fwiw, what looks like mold on soil is likely either lichens that grow on peat, or mycelium that grows on the bits of wood in mixes. Neither will hurt your plants, and they are probably beneficial.
