In the wild it’s more of a ground cover so it will keep growing sideways and fall down no matter how much you try to prop it up. You can do whatever you want with it, ofcourse, but it will be an ongoing battle against gravity if you want it to stand upright. Personally i would put the plastic pot into a heavy outer pot so it doesn’t fall over, and just let it be a hanging plant.
