Also posted to r/houseplants. I noticed this plant no looking so great today and found spider mites. I’ve spread with alcohol/dawn mixture (seen here). I could put it in the shower but that would mean carrying it upstairs past other plants. Should I just toss it. It’s hard for me to let go of a plant but I would feel worse if the other plants got infected. Did I just answer my own question?

It seems that Mr bot wants me to say I typically water this parlor palm in the am shower and yes it has drainage holes. It also gets ample indirect light.

I had luck with bioadvanced 3 in 1 insect, disease and mite control.

I did give the plant a shower first and wipe it down well and left it in the bathroom for a week or 2 to make sure they didn’t come back. I also made sure it didn’t touch any other plants and I showered and washed my clothes right after treating it, mostly being overly cautious and a little grossed out.

Whatever you end up using, make sure it isn’t **just** an insecticide. Spider mites are not insects so an insecticide will not affect them. Something for insects **as well as** mites would be fine.
