Cadbury Hall Care Home in Yatton hopes to transform its outdoor space into a welcoming and vibrant sanctuary for residents to enjoy year-round.
The home is inviting donations of indoor and outdoor plants, cuttings, and gardening tools to support the project.
Audrene Abrigo, general manager at Cadbury Hall Care Home, said: “We know how much gardening means to many of our residents.
“It brings back fond memories, encourages conversation and gives everyone a real sense of achievement.
“We’re excited to develop a space that our residents can truly enjoy, and we would love the community to be part of it.
“Every donation, no matter how small, will help us create something very special.”
The care home is working alongside its gardener to design an outdoor area that residents can enjoy throughout the year.
Gardening is a popular and meaningful activity for many older people, offering not only enjoyment but also physical and emotional benefits.
Spending time outdoors can help improve wellbeing, evoke memories, and promote gentle physical activity.
The project also aims to strengthen links between the care home and the wider community.
By involving local residents and businesses, Cadbury Hall wants to create a space that brings people together and reflects community spirit.
Anyone interested in supporting the project or making a donation can contact Ms Abrigo on 01934 833073 or email CadburyHall@barchester.com.
