I bought some small plants and then ran out of time to pot them. I thought about how you put containers in larger containers of soil, so I tried it. My plants are doing great! They didn’t dry out and I could pot them at my leisure! Awesome!

I had some trailing silk plants on a trellis for peas a few years ago. Cardinals made a nest in it.
I have been using fake flowers in my garden for years. If you set them just so, they fool the eyes and people think you have an amazing green thumb. I have not thought to use them to shade plants or to protect them. I am going to try it on some lettuce that the birds have been eating. I also love the idea of using them to give the birds shelter from predators. I will fasten some to our chain link fence for the birds.
I have a flower bed in the shade for peppers and they are great morning sun❤
