The Garden House, in Norwich’s Golden Triangle, has hosted quiz nights, raffles, food and toy drives and head shaves to raise the tally over the past 12 months.
The pub, part of the Craft Union Pub Company, has supported charities including St Martin’s Housing Trust, homelessness charities in Norwich and Great Yarmouth, Only a Pavement Away, food banks, Harford Manor special needs school, and asylum seeker children supported by Norfolk County Council.
The pub has also been a lifeline for the Ukrainian community in Norwich, providing food and supplies, including Christmas presents and Easter eggs for children whose families have fled the war.

Jonathon and Tanya Childs, who run the pub, which is in Pembroke Road, said: “We’re so proud to have helped raise over £40,000 for charity this past year, but none of this would be possible without the amazing support of our local community.
“It’s them who really make it happen, they give their time, energy, and generosity to help those in need.
“Supporting the Ukrainian community in Norwich has been especially moving.
“From those first days after the invasion, when we were able to organise food and essential supplies in just hours, to providing Christmas presents and Easter eggs for children each year since – the joy and gratitude we’ve seen is unforgettable.”

Dr Jan Sheldon, chief executive of the city-based St Martin’s Housing Trust, thanked the pub for donations of food, pot noodles and, in hot weather, water.
She said: “We are incredibly grateful for the support which Jonathon and his team give us.
“All of those donations are really important for the people who use our services.”
She said such donations helped support more than 300 people across Norwich to access things which save their lives on a daily basis.
