My small 200 sqft no lawn area is going into its third spring. I burned it last spring and ended up with more sunflowers and Jerusalem artichokes than desired. Should I burn it this spring to reduce these and encourage the shorter flowers or leave it and let come what may. I would prefer shorter flowers. Zone 5b west of Chicago. Thanks.

Forgot to add. The images are from this past summer of the area in question.
Would thinning the undesired be an option? Go in and selectively remove sunflowers at the front for example?
