This is my first time starting seedlings. My tomatoes just started looking weird and I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. The seed starting mix somehow got super low in the cells so I added more to cover the plant as much as I could and also keep them moist constantly. I also don’t know if my lights are to low. Any help would be very much appreciated!!!!

If the soil isn’t wet when adding it to the tray, it will sink down…no biggie there, but you may have added soil a bit too soon. I grow in solo cups with holes in the bottom and add soil as the plant grows…this is for tomatoes and other viney plants. I keep my soil super moist until the tomato leaves pop, then water when the top feels dry. Keep the lights 1-3 inches above the plants to avoid getting leggy and subsequently burned.
That “soil” looks completely sterile and free of all nutrients. Needs fertilizer, especially nitrogen.
Sorry, bud, those are Jalapenos. You got pepper Joe’d hard. (Joking)
