Hi!

I got this fiddle leaf from Costco about a year ago. She has more than doubled in leaves and has gotten very “fluffy” however she has not gotten any taller. Someone told me to cut her down so she branches up? Just need someone to tell me what to do and how to make her be more of a tree 🙂

I don’t think I’d prune it right now. Pruning is more for making a WIDER plant, not a taller plant.

If I were you, I’d repot it into a larger pot as it’s probably root bound. Pull it out of the pot. Then prune off any roots that are circling around the pot or are forming a solid mat on the bottom. Then remove all/most of the old potting soil. Repot into a larger pot with drainage using a well draining chunky potting soil. I like to use regular potting soil with a LOT of extra perlite in it. I also usually add fine orchid bark and some slow release fertilizer (like osmocote plus). Don’t bury it too deep, you just want to barely cover the roots.

Lastly, move it so it’s right smack in the middle of that bright window!
