Located in Haywards Heath in West Sussex, Borde Hill Estate spans more than 190 acres.
Opening today (February 14), Borde Hill is a preserved country garden where you can see signs of spring starting from this month, with flowers ranging from early February snowdrops to vibrant magnolias, daffodils, and tulips in the spring.
By April, the Italian Garden is transformed into a showcase of tulips, cherry blossom, and exotic Fritillaria imperialis ‘Rubra’.

This year, the estate also welcomes its new head gardener Mark Bobin.
The gardens aren’t just for flora enthusiasts — families can enjoy the interactive ‘Mission Spring’ trail from February 14 until March 22, where children follow Agent Snowdrop on a secret mission to save Spring from Winter.
The trail includes decoding clues, completing nature challenges, and meeting special agents, such as Agent Bumble and Agent Nutmeg.

Leading into Easter, the estate will welcome its Ludo the Lamb’s Easter Adventure Trail. Running from March 28 until April 20, the trail takes children on a quest to win the Lamb National Race, with egg hunts, puzzles, and a final prize.
For art enthusiasts, the estate’s Victorian glasshouse will host its Art of Spring exhibition, running from February 14 up until April 30.
The exhibition will feature paintings alongside 1,000 potted daffodil bulbs, with thousands more planted along North Park Walk.

Borde Hill is open daily from February 14 until December 23, with entry costing £13.95 for adults, £12.95 for concessions, and £8.95 for children (aged 3–16).
