De-pot, clean the roots off and let it dry. From there you can inspect for squishy flesh or anything that looks like rot. In my experience, of you think you maybe should de-pot you probably should. There isn’t much of a downside.
Imo the soil is probably staying too moist and when you re-pot, don’t mulch the surface and use a better draining soil mix (people say inorganic but coconut coir drains very well too and that’s technically organic).
