Unfortunately none of the trees are sane. They are infected and rotten. They risk falling on the pathway
Ladder was only used to check on the branches.

    Sever at the bottom then roll it out or winch it back

  3. If you could get a rope up on one of the branches and pull with a winch or car to rotate it out?

    Yes, that ladder is in exactly the wrong spot. Generally, pull the bottom away from the tree or cut the bottom in 4’ sections, but the large knobby branches look like it could cause the trunk to rotate pretty easily. A bucket or spider would be ideal to approach it from the top. Maybe time to call a pro

    Ill do a bit of digging and figure out which of my  married guy friends have the best life insurance and then work something out with the wife.

    Swing a rope over it, redirect the rope with another tree and pull it in the opposite direction
