BRISTOL — The Bristol Garden Club is accepting applications for its 2026 Carol Roys Bristol Garden Club Scholarship.
According to Susan Eisenhandler, chair of the Bristol Garden Club’s Scholarship Committee, eligible high schools guidance department staff have received the application forms and will inform students about the award. The scholarship is open to students residing in Bristol, Burlington, Harwinton, Plainville, Plymouth and Wolcott. The award is open to students pursuing higher education in agriculture, botany, conservation, environmental studies, forestry, horticulture, landscape architecture, meteorology, urban planning or closely related fields.
“The Bristol Garden Club is pleased to accept applications from qualified students for the 2026 Carol Roys Bristol Garden Club Scholarship,” she said. “One tuition scholarship will be awarded in the amount of $2,000.”
Application forms are available online from respective high school guidance departments.
Completed application forms must be postmarked by March 31.
“The club has awarded scholarships for many years – hoping to support plants and people,” Eisenhandler said.
Established in 1964, the mission of the Bristol Garden Club is to “stimulate interest and creative activity in the art of gardening.”
“Our goals are to enhance the beauty of our community, contribute to civic improvement, working for the conservation of native plants and wildlife and to provide education on the broad spectrum of benefits from gardening,” the club’s web page reads.
Bristol Garden Club Meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month at 10 a.m. at Bristol Public Library at 5 High St.
