Kawhi & Wemby: Stillness in Motion

Artist: Billy Kheel

Kawhi Leonard and Victor Wembanyama share a calmness uncommon in today’s game – a calm that feels almost spiritual. Both carry themselves like martial artists, moving through chaos with intention and control.

Kawhi, the karate master from Moreno Valley, channels stillness through power – his balance, precision, and refusal to be rushed. Around him bloom orange and yellow California poppies, the flowers of his hometown.

Wemby, the Shaolin monk from Le Chesnay, France, radiates a softer mysticism. His reach and rhythm feel more meditation than motion, as if the court itself bends to his breath. Pink purslane flowers (appreciated and eaten in his native France) surround him.

I created these jerseys to give Kawhi and Wemby their flowers – to honor the quiet mastery they bring to the game. A celebration of stillness, balance, and the beauty found in control, something we could all use in our lives right now.
