  1. When you hit your face I felt so bad for you . I was gardening one time with those rubber shoes clog things and I stepped on a steel rake and it went right thru the clog and thru my foot , I cried had to pull the rake out of my foot and I cried like a little kid ,

  2. I watched yesterday when you hit yourself with the shovel and your right it’s dangerous out there one year I was trimming a tree. Had a branch I was going to cut I stepped on it while I was cutting it it slipped it hit me me in the eye I thought I had lost my eye but thank God it gave me a beautiful colorful shiner took weeks to get over it

  3. I’m glad your eye is fine.
Consider a skylight either in the kitchen or the porch, near your windows. They really brighten a space on those overcast days and great for indoor plants.
An added space like your parent’s garden center houseplant solarium.

  4. I think I heard you say you put annuals in the front flower bed and we also saw the tulips starting to come up. Can you plant annuals directly over tulips after they're done? If so, which are best?

  5. I think you need to just bite the bullet and put in new hedges around your centerpiece because you are not happy with those plants. They are not making you feel good about things. Just pull them out and if you want to replant them replant them but put some new ones in. That'll do what you want. And you really do need to go back to you Andrews and pick up that beautiful Maple that was in that greenhouse. I have envy over that thing and you could get it. And show us as it grows.

  6. We have a -14c coming up this week overnight and a ton of snow still so no cleanup going on here for a while! I feel like your tulips will be in bloom before I can get to cleanup. Lots going on inside though! Seeds are coming up(except my Lizzie’s) and looking forward to springtime.

  7. Ive learned that boxwood prefer partial sun and to avoid full afternoon sun in hot climate. Maybe thats why these looks worst than the ones more protected… you could see that the interior side of the circle where the russian sage is looks much more green!

  8. Glad your eye socket is intact! Ouch! I was moving a 40lb. pellet bag in the barn and just dropped it onto the hand truck. Of course in hind sight I should of steadied the hand truck. The entire top hit my face and I had a horrendous purple face and complete black eye changing colors for weeks! I think the message to me was to slow down. I'm glad you are healing!❤

  9. I always forget to ask if it would be possible to plant inside the chicken coop. I know space inside the run is premium, but they loved the bush where they were laying eggs. When you opened the door and said, "Hi chickens," I am surprised they didn't bolt for the door…Freedom 😂! Love the new pot with the winter gem! Beautiful.
Would it be possible to put a camera by the new bird feeder?
I know Benjamin would love it, and bird enthusiasts would also. They look perfect in that area!❤

  10. Thank you for taking us along with the flower bed clean up. Glad to hear that the birds are enjoying the bird feeders you made. Take care.

  11. Are you worried that the mild winter might affect the blooms of the tulips? Will they bloom less because it hasn't been cold enough?

  12. The boxwood sphere looks like a hot air balloon with that pot. The new renovations are exciting. When you have the porch worked on will you keep the same columns or will you change them to round ones?

  13. Looks like a beautiful day for more clean up. Am I more excited than the rest for your renovations? We added a kitchen dining area to my little upnorth Michigan cottage a few years ago and so love the extra space, can’t wait to watch yours grow!

  14. I planted 4 sprinter boxwoods at 4 points around a center of a square walkway a few years ago and I plan on removing them and I ordered enough Independence to circle the walk way.(full sun). The sprinter bronzed a lot this year, do you think if they were moved to a semi shade area, will they be protected from bronzing a little bit less? I can’t wait to see the new addition and the landscaping around it.

  15. I just rewatched a video from 4 years ago that showed the cleanup crew taking out the big blue spruce that blew over in a windstorm. It is cool to see how much change has occurred and how much growth has happened. You walked through the westside garden and the arborvitaes were half the height they are now.

  16. Liebe Laura, ich habe das gestrige Video gesehen und habe verstanden, dass du dich verletzt hast. In Deutschland sagen wir ,schöne Menschen, kann nichts entstellen! Aber es war knapp!😊L.G.Anja

  17. Injury time! A Knock-Out Rose thorn got my pinkie joint a couple days ago. It was already swollen with arthitis, so OWW! Still on light duty since it is so red and painful.🫤

  18. I'm so surprised you don't use a garden / potato fork as well as a shovel or spade to lift older established plants in order to preserve the attached roots before you move them? I've learned a lot from you and am encouraged to garden each time I watch. Thanks for all you do!

  19. Laura….you tough girl! Your eye looks amazing for how hard you whacked it…glad you're ok!! ❤
Question- cutting back the perennials/Russian sage, etc…do you hand water everything this time of the year? I'm struggling to figure out when to turn my water on again. I think we are past the freezing point this year (zone-7 TN), but this is my 1st year with irrigation and I'm just not sure when dormancy is considered "over." We are still working on the "bones" of our yard, evergreens and shrubs, so I don't want to overwater, but don't want to neglect things either.

  20. 14:38 … I love the early planting of that circle fountain area… it was so cute with the little individual boxwoods with space between and the flowers spilling through. Maybe get some of those little peewee boxwoods and recreate that early combination.

  21. Loving the spring enthusiasm. Have you considered starting over with that entire area? Doing something entirely different and more inline with the way the property is moving? 15:09

  22. I thought you were going to have a shiner. If you go out with Aaron in public and run across people who don’t know you they are going to give Aaron the stink eye. If you try to tell them you did it to yourself they are like un-huh.

  23. Better get that newly planted locust moved before it gets to settled in. Your not going to want it 3ft from the wall of your addition

  24. Are those early bulbs you cut down? Some of my irises are coming up and my snowdrops are up and blooming (Spokane). What did you cut down and what do you leave? Daily watcher since before this property. Love your energy and enthusiasm!

  25. Bulbs… hostas…garden cleanout…. I had to check the date of this! We are covered in a few feet of snow here in southern Ontario… I can't wait to see bulbs and green stuff coming up! Thank you Laura for all your hard work!
