Before and after. It took about 30 minutes and my guy who mows my lawn did the job. Just want to gauge if I have paid him a fair amount!

He also hauled away most of the trimmings which included some thick trunks/branches. He was able to put another bundle in my compost bin. TIA.

How much did you pay them, and what did you ask them to do specifically with this tree?

  3. Obvious_Expression34

$50 tops cause I coulda done that in 15 minutes

I would have done that for a 12 pack.

That’s a ligustrum. I would come chop that terrible invasive plant all the way down and poison its stump for free for you.

That’s a horrible pruning job. The difference between pruning and just cutting shit off. I’d replant the tree. And find a good pruner who will charge you a fair amount.

He cut one branch and maybe three little suckers off the bottom.

I wouldn’t pay someone anything for that. The cost of a pair of pruners from harbor freight cost from $5-10 sooo… yeah I guess that? And there is no way that took him 30 min.

Also, that tree is going to grow horribly crooked after that prune job and it is going to bush out on the right like crazy and exasperated the original reason you had it pruned.

Rip it out completely. That will grow and damage the fence.

Literally for free, it would’ve taken like 5 minutes and been fun

Why do you just buy a scissors and trim it

Couldn’t tell you, my landscaper mows and trims weekly at $90/month. I don’t pay extra for a simple trim like this one pictured

I suppose you like the end result? That’s not good.

Honestly just remove it completely. It’s not doing much for privacy. It’s too close to the fence. It’s already breaching over onto your neighbors property. You’ll have to continue to prune it.

My wife wouldn’t have yelled at me as payment.

that’s an invasive. You should call the Master Gardener program at DNR – half the time they’ll come remove it for free.
