a complete mess… and it was obviously my fault…

I had horrible cramps yesterday so I stayed home for a day. which meant I left my terrarium closed for a whole day. (`;ω;´) Which would have been fine if I had springtails and if I hadn't overwatered… So, disappointment but not surprised, I come back to the office today to a moldy substrate.

I immediately threw all the shitty dirt out and replaced it, I didn't have Perlite with me which sucked. but the Potting soil we have does have Perlite in it. I put orchid bark and soil on the bottom, soil on top. I washed the hell out of my plants and the glass container. (The mold was on one side of the terrarium where I placed too much water, its a miracle they're still alive.) The roots were white and not rotting which is a plus. I put less soil in this time, carefully patting everything in.

I overcompensated, thinking the terrarium needed a bit more water since I wasn't going to be here for a day. Some of them are now wiltingwhich also sucks cause I had to quickly pull them out and wash them. I know I'm going to get a good talking to by you guys but I'm always open to criticisms and advice.

For now, open terrarium it is.

Plants: Venus Flytrap, Fittonia, Polka Dot Plant

Soil: Potting Soil, Peat Moss, Perlite, one fossil (edit: not Sphagnum Moss… i have peat moss)

Water Cycle: I’ll water it when I remember, I mainly made this to save my fittonia and polka dot… this is technically a box of shame.
