A woman was rushed to hospital after a car crashed through a fence and into a garden following a two-vehicle collision.

Emergency services were called to Westwood Road in East Kilbride, in Scotland, around 8.10am on Thursday, responding to reports of an accident involving two cars.

The incident saw a grey car collide near Westwood Square Shopping Precinct before it hurtled through a metal fence and into the garden of a block of flats. Both Police Scotland and the Scottish Ambulance Service were present at the scene.

The injured woman was transported to University Hospital Wishaw for medical attention. Her current condition remains unknown, and the cause of the crash has yet to be revealed.

Pictures from the scene depict a grey car that had veered off the road and crashed through a metal fence surrounded by trees. An ambulance and police car can also be seen attending to the vehicle.

The damaged car has since been removed. Images showing the aftermath reveal a gaping hole in the twisted fence, reports the Daily Record.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland stated: “Around 8.10am on Thursday, 12 February, 2026, we received a report of a crash involving two vehicles at Westwood Road, East Kilbride. A woman was taken to Wishaw Hospital for treatment.”

The Scottish Ambulance Service has been approached for a statement.
