A big rig jackknifed and spilled diesel fuel in an early morning crash on the Garden Grove (22) Freeway Wednesday morning, prompting a full closure of westbound lanes that extended into the morning commute.
The crash was reported at 1:41 a.m. Wednesday just east of Harbor Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Rescuers responded to the scene, but it was not immediately clear if anyone was seriously injured.
Vehicles were diverted from westbound freeway lanes onto Harbor Boulevard as a hazardous material crew was summoned to clean up the spill.
Two lanes were re-opened at about 9:15 a.m., the CHP reported.
