Hello,
I have had my monstera for around five years now and recently transferred it to a sphagnum moss pole that we made. Prior to this, it was on a coco coir pole that I bought thinking it would work. I made the change to get the monstera to take to the pole.
I had to essentially cut a hole in the existing root structure to get the new pole into place, so a number of roots had to be cut. I am thinking the damage in the later pictures are attributed to that.
Lastly, we have had an unusually cold winter. This has resulted in some of the driest air inside my house I dealt with in my life, humidity dropping below 15%. I since then have bought several humidifiers for myself, cats, and plants because the dry air was affecting us all.
My question is for the community, are these spots normal? I have a few damaged leaves from moving and some from underwatering or overwatering, but I don’t really know what these spots are. It doesn’t seem like pests, so I think it is just damage showing from having to chop up the roots a bit.
Any advice would be appreciated. It has to live behind the baby gate because my cat likes to sit in the pot T_T

Why is it drenched?
To add to the post: it is mainly this one leaf showing spots. The others have minimal damage, aside from the one that dried out around a year ago. Also the flash is making it look like lots of white specks are present, which they aren’t.
I think I need to upload better pictures in natural light without water. May just repost at a later date
Does the spots appear worst on the oldest leaf? Any yellowing edges? How long have you had it in that pot?
My first thought is that it’s some kind of nutrient deficiency caused by the plant being rootbound.
Hope it will turn out alright 🙂
It looks like a little plant zoo lol! I hope she recovers from her operation and really likes the moss pole 😎
