How TF did I grow this golden pothos of monstrosity?
So my mom had a pothos in direct sunlight like for 6 hours a day (for 10 years) and it was not doing ok and I planted on of its cutting here and now it becacame this…
I really hope you didn’t plant this in area where they’re considered an invasive species!!

Please go unplant this right now. Like pull the whole thing out of the ground and off the tree, roots and all. It’s invasive in India.

Perfect conditions for it, that’s how.

What’s your location? You most likely planted an invasive species. Do you also dump your unwanted pet fish in waterways?

This is just how they grow in nature! They are considered invasive in some parts of the world because they will just take over and grow really fast.

You can replicate these conditions in a pot and get giant mature leaves. You should take this out though. Invasive species are contributing to the current mass extinction 🤓

That’s the largest pothos leaf I’ve seen in my life! 👀🤣

As everyone has stated it’s invasive.
But to explain what’s happening, when this plant begins to grow vertically and the nodes connect to a tree a hormone is released that starts the maturing process. As it grows up the tree the leaves get bigger and bigger to receive more light. They even start fenestrating (holes in the leaves) the plants do this to reach maturity and flower once the get higher In the tree. Tho for some reason pothos have not been observed flowering unlike other aroids plants.
