GARDEN – A house in Garden Township exploded Tuesday night, resulting in a complete loss of the residence.
At approximately 10:23 p.m., law enforcement was dispatched to the Garden area for reports of an explosion, according to Garden Township Fire Department Chief Keith Farley.
Law enforcement began checking nearby residences in the area from the location of the original caller to dispatch, and they found material blown off of the walls of other residences nearby.
Farley was still en route to the area when he learned law enforcement on scene determined a house at 15670 18.5 Lane had exploded.
While the house is considered a complete loss, a nearby garage on the property is still standing as of this report.
The investigation into the cause of the explosion is ongoing.
The agencies that assisted the Garden Township Fire Department include the Michigan State Police and Delta County Central Dispatch.
