If it happened over night it makes me think it had something to do with temperature. But from what you said about the watering and wet soil it sounds like root rot. You might be able to save it if you re-pot right away, like TODAY.

Either the temp got too cold in that room or you have been over watering and its root rot. Do you typically let the soil dry out completely before watering again? Also if you water and the decorative pots are holding extra water that can lead to root rot.

Why are you using zipties? Also you’ve completed wrapped the wrong portions of the plant.
