(The first three pics are from about two weeks ago, the last one is from yesterday)

My sarracenia was doing fine until a few weeks ago, I'm unsure if it's just dormant or if it's dying.

The temperature where I live shifts from 9° celsius (48,2° farenheit) to 18° celsius (64,4° farenheit). My plant has always been outside.

I just wanted to be sure if this is normal or if I should do something about it. Thanks in advance 🙂

I don’t think there’s anything you can do, unfortunately. That’s how mine looked when the rhizome rotted.

  2. Don’t give up on it. I think if it was rotted it would be black and mushy at the base. Looks more like dormancy to me. Cut back the withering foliage close to the base and wait for new growth when the weather starts to warm up.

They can rot if the rhizome is planted too deep. I always leave a bit of rhizome above the soil when I plant/transplant mine.

  3. These are pretty hardy so I would assume the temperature is not an issue?

Altough 9 celcius at the lowest isnt really as cold as they would like I think..

Rhizome looks pretty colorsome and sturdy?
