Could you suggest why my Monstera doesn’t have any fenestrations? Also, can you help identify which type of Monstera this is? The roots were long, so I’ve placed it in water.

Should I report it in a bigger pot ?

It’s just a regular monstera. How much light does it get?

Hi there! You have several (many!) individual monstera plants there. They are all very young. And, they’re all very leggy due to lack of light. Please don’t pot into something bigger!

Best bet would be to separate the individual plants, and repot each separately and with adequate support due to their lack of strength.

Yes, I would definitely repot it and put it in coarse soil, probably deeper too. However, that won’t affect the leaf windows.

Your Monstera deliciosa is stretching for more light.

It should actually be near a sunny window or under a good grow light.

The only way to fix the lack of windows on the leaves is with patience, light, and good nutrition.

By the way, it’s a heavy feeder, which means you should fertilize it regularly and always let the soil dry out slightly before watering… Basically, the top 2-3 cm should be dry before watering.

Just start by meeting its needs, and then you’ll be happy with every new leaf and the small changes.

    Have fun and good luck!

Monstera deliciosa. You have several plants there and they’re not getting enough light.

    Untie those petioles!

What you have is very young. As time goes on, with adequate light, the new leaves will have fenestrations.

    Need a lot more light

It’s still a juvenile plant, but in order for fenestrations to develop and for leaf size to increase, it needs significantly more light☀️

Is that a monstera, or heart leaf philo?

i don’t know why no one is saying that, but i think your best bet is to cut the tops from the most healthy stems with decent amount of aerial roots (like top 2-3 leaves of each), root them in water and start fresh in a new proper chunky soil and the pole, give it a ton of light and feed it regularly and it will grow much nicer from the start.

if you wanted to keep the whole thing as it is, even if you give it better light and attach it correctly to the pole, it may start growing bigger but the part that’s already grown won’t change – the bottom part will stay leafless and the current small leaves won’t get bigger so it’s gonna look a bit silly and the thin stems will struggle to support bigger growth on top. and if you’re gonna repot it and make 4 or so plants, that’s gonna be 4 times more hassle and 4 silly looking plants in the end 😅
