I’m a total noob and need help. What’s eating my basil? How do I protect her?
Might be hard to tell from this pic but on the bottom left side there are some leaves that have big chomps taken out of them :(( my poor baby. What do I do? I want her to get huge. I live in south FL for context
Have you looked under the leaves? Anything flew away as you touched the plant, where did you get the soil from?

My guess is slugs or snails. I always get slugs on my basil

Look for caterpillars? I’ve only had beetles bother my basil and they only left the veins behind.

Physical barrier: Check under the leaves for any unwanted critters and remove if necessary. Then put small gauge netting over the whole pot and plant. You can build a teepee out of thin lengths of bamboo to keep the netting clear of the basil. Good luck.
