No, you should cut the growth point so you get a pot full of basal pitchers like this. Nepenthes ampullaria are remarkably unremarkable when grown vertically. They rarely produce upper or intermediate pitchers and the leaves are large and heavy.
If you want it to be grown vertically then you do need like bamboo sticks as a support.

I would worry about support if the pot was threatening to fall over.
Where’d you get those white pots? I see them often but not sure what to search for.
