My neighbor had a bunch of nice mature trees that provided shade to our back yard and this week he chopped them all down and left this one that was more on our property. It grew this way looking for sun around the other trees that were back there but has a lean to it over our pergola. Is this something that can be saved? I’d love to keep the tree if we can. Looking for advice.

Your utility will be trimming that for you. Not a good place for a tree.
That’s a carrotwood tree. They’re very robust. It’s probably going to grow really well now that it gets more sunshine.
It looks sickly right now. But chances are, it’s about to have its time in the sun!
So this is your neighbor’s tree? And you want them to keep it if it…can be saved? They saved it. It is kept, for now.
