The reverse taper here is an optical illusion, the trunk is pretty evenly thick from the jin upwards. It’s probably too thin to make an actual wide shark right now, but I wanted to start the first stage with very thin shari that I can widen over time. My hope is that I can distract the eye from the predominately straight section above the trunk. Bonus points for pot recommendations. This was all I had on me last year when I pulled it from a nursery pot.
