Need a ChatGPT back check for a noob… I’m looking to create a “living wall” with the below plants. It’s telling me that I can plant these all in ground and shape them along the hog wire on my fence. I can’t wrap around my head that some of these plants are installed in the ground and it can trail up the screen, it seems like I would need to have a wall-hung planter for these to be placed up the wall. Can I really shape these plants like the image from the ground?

Star Jasmine Base

Lomandra

Asparagus Fern

Heuchera

Climbing Fig

Lol, who’s in here upvoting “Need a ChatGPT back check”? Are you really asking us if something that you got the hallucination machine to hallucinate is realistic?

Several species of asparagus and the creeping fig are invasive or high invasion risk depending on where you live, but especially in CA and FL.

Lovely inspiration. I can’t answer your question, but even if you had to build a planter boxes onto the back, that could be gorgeous.

You can’t wrap your head around it because it doesn’t make any sense. How exactly would those grasses and ferns (?) grow from the ground but somehow only be visible 5 feet up?

It’s doable. The Jasmine in your image is well clipped and trained. Probably 10 years of growth to achieve the look.
The purple heuchera would all be at the ground level, not up high as shown. And the asparagus fern too. The image is fudging how high up the ground level plants would get. They wouldn’t climb up like shown.
