I transplanted this sand live oak today here in coastal NC. I dug about a 1-1.5’ hole that was about a shovel and a half deep, transported it with the soil and planted it nearby in the same town.

I dug a hole about 4’ in diameter by 1-1.5’ deep and mixed in some more sand as the location it was moved to hadn’t quite such a sand-dominant composition. I planted it with the root flair exposed, mulched (2-3” deep and not touching the bark) and watered generously.

Any feedback about the process or the end result would be greatly appreciated. The location it was moved to is my house so I will be able to water it regularly. I really want this tree to make it so any feedback is welcome. Thank you.
