Wadworth & Co Ltd has submitted a planning application to the city council for the scheme at The Millers Pond in Middle Road, Sholing.
The proposed development involves replacing the timber outbuilding, laying new decking, and putting up pergolas.
The existing play and fitness equipment would be removed.
A design and access statement prepared on behalf of the applicant by Dolman Building Surveyors said: “The proposal is to transform an area of the existing pub garden to create a more comfortable space for customers that can be used throughout the year.”
Wadworth plans to install rain and wind deflector blinds to the pergolas, while glass sliding doors are proposed on the southern end of the structures.
The statement said: “The proposal will not change the use of the site or garden but will enhance the customer experience by providing weather protection for those using the garden.
“It is acknowledged that this may slightly increase the use of the garden as customers will be able to use the space year-round.
“However, the proposed structures include doors, blinds and roofs that can be closed and would provide some noise mitigation.”
A public consultation on the application is open to comments until February 19.
