I got this white wizard beginning of January and it has been on the decline since. I have only watered in a few times and the soil is still wet! The leaves are becoming drooping at the end and the white is becoming brown. I have no idea what to do to save it! Also there are these strange root looking things coming out in the bottom. Btw this is one of my first plants!

  1. The pot looks too big to me which makes it hard to tell when the soil is ready to be watered! Also, did you repot after you got it? Sometimes when I buy plants, they have little nursery nets around the roots which can cause issues if they’re not removed

Edit: it could also for sure benefit from chunkier soil! For my aroids I do peat, coarse perlite, orchid bark or reptibark, and usually a little coco fiber. I go pretty heavy on the perlite and bark chips as you want the mix to be nice and airy 🙂

What does the drainage look like on the pot? It may need a chunkier soil mix.

The root looking things are aerial roots! They’re normal but sometimes it means it’s too wet so it’s trying to adapt to that.

The leaves browning looks a bit like overwatering damage to me! But the white turning brown can also just be the plant letting go the part that isn’t helping due to lack of chlorophyll, once you get it back on track, silica can help with that.
