Entries are now open for the competitive classes at the Cornwall Garden Society’s 2026 Spring Flower Show, which will return to the Royal Cornwall Showground on Saturday, March 28, and Sunday, March 29.
The event promises two days of horticultural displays, family activities, expert talks, show gardens, and competitive exhibits, with opportunities to enter classes for ornamental trees and shrubs, magnolias, camellias, rhododendrons, azaleas, daffodils, herbaceous and bulbous plants, pot plants, alpines, and floral art.
Photography will be exhibited non-competitively, though awards will be given for the best images.
Martin Petherick, chairman of the Cornwall Garden Society, said: “The Cornwall Garden Society Spring Flower Show once again promises to demonstrate the incredible range of plant varieties produced during a Cornish spring.
“Following the disruption caused by Storm Goretti to many Cornish gardens, this year’s show also stands as a testament to the resilience, skill and determination of growers across the county.
“As the entries for competitive classes open, we are keen to encourage as many people as possible to take part.
“You do not need to be a member of the Society to enter, and there is no fee for exhibiting in the competitive classes.
“We are especially pleased to welcome first-time exhibitors through our dedicated Novice Section, which is designed to make showing accessible and enjoyable.”
A new feature for the 2026 show is the Sustainability Hub, curated by the Eden Project as part of its 25th anniversary celebrations.
The hub will be rooted in a garden designed by Eden Project apprentices and will explore sustainable gardening practices, including soil health, energy use, recycling, and low-impact construction.
Mark Holman, show director, said: “Our team is preparing another warm and welcoming show, with competitive classes, inspiring talks, show gardens and exhibitions for everyone to enjoy.
“We very much look forward to welcoming exhibitors and visitors alike to what promises to be a wonderful celebration of spring in Cornwall.”
The deadline for horticultural entries is Monday, March 16, 2026, while photography submissions must be made by Saturday, March 14, 2026.
More information and entry forms are available at the Cornwall Garden Society website.
