  1. Rochelle, I’m right there with you! In my phone notes you’ll find ā€œWhat I’m liking winter 2025/26… Tree that keeps its tawny leaves w an evergreen backdrop, w shrub berries.ā€ You’ll also find ā€œbeech vs hornbeam hedgeā€ in my recent search history. I think a beech tree in my future as well šŸ˜…

  2. Re marcescence, both pin oaks (Quercus palustris) and scarlet oaks (Q. coccinea) also hold on to their leaves through the winter, at least here in 7A Virginia

  3. TY Great episode I am going to look into the AHS. But what happened to your membership subscription. I joined in December and yesterday I got an email stating that my subscription has been cancelled because you no longer offer the membership.

  4. I have an AHS membership and the benefits of reciprocal gardens is amazing! Chicago Botanic Gardens is in my area and averages $19-29 per person for admission and my even more local garden, Cantigny, honors the AHS membership so I go for a walk there every week! Enjoy the magazine and hopeful for continued growth! Maybe one day we’ll have our own Chelsea style flower show.
