St. Peter’s Garden Centre is celebrating with staff and customers after securing a place in the 25 best British garden centres.
The site on Norton Road was officially ranked the 23rd best place to visit by the Garden Centre Association (GCA) for 2025.
Jamie Armstrong, digital manager at St Peter’s Garden Centre, said: “We’re absolutely delighted at St. Peter’s Garden Centre to be named among the Top 25 for The Best British Garden Centres.
“A huge credit goes to our amazing and dedicated team whose hard work and passion for delivering the very best customer experience really shines through.”
GCA was first established in 1966 as an inspection scheme and a governing body for garden centres. The inspections still take place annually.
The garden centre ranked 37th on the GCA’s list in 2024 and climbed 14 places to make the top 25 list.
“What truly sets St Peter’s Garden Centre apart is our community spirit,” Mr Armstrong added.

“We’re more than just a garden centre, we’re a place for everyone, whether it’s someone popping in on their own for a bit of inspiration, a couple enjoying a quiet afternoon together, or a family attending one of our Half Term events to explore and make memories.
“We’re extremely excited for the year ahead and want to keep growing and improving.
“Twenty-third place is great but we’re not stopping there.”

Once a member of the GCA, a garden centre is inspected to ensure it meets standards for customer care and quality.
A spokesperson for the GCA said: “The GCA asks its garden centre members, from the moment they join, to meet the highest retail standards and to participate in an annual inspection process, to ensure these standards are maintained and improved.
” The Association can state, proudly, that it represents the leading garden centres within the UK and worldwide as part of its membership of the International Garden Centre Association (IGCA).”
