I was gifted this cactus and it’s blooming and beautiful. I need to repot it or something or like help it not fall over right? It seems happy but it is very spiky and very floppy and heavy.

It wants to lay down. I would give it a rectangular or oval pot it can lie down in.

There’s nothing to fix. This kind of mammillaria wants to crawl along the ground. Repot it into a wide shallow pot.

Just cut the existing plant off about 5 inches above the pot and repot the branch that’s hanging into some new soil,,, the old pot. Will send a bunch of pups up

They love to grow along the ground. Find a rectangular pot so it can do what it’s supposed to.

Mammillaria spinosissima, a prostrate growing cactus, meaning they crawl, lean, and loaf. They are not supposed to be upright. I grow my mammi’s in wide but shallow pots to accommodate their growth.

    This also requires more light.

Oh no, these just do that. I have one that genuinely grew into an “S” shape, got root rot, and then gestated a clone army. These are just weird cacti.

That’s how they grow in nature, there’s no ‘fixing’ it.

Look at her with her lil flower crown gazing wistfully out of the window. ☺️
