I picked up a grow kit from my local dollarstore back in august and wanted to try my hand at growing fruit, but since I live in Canada it was only about 12” tall when first frost hit and I had to bring it inside. It is now over 7 feet tall using just some floor to ceiling south windows and a singular LED strip grow light that I taped to one of the stakes. It has produced flowers many times but since I am a pretty bad pollinator I have only managed to produce cherry tomatoes twice now. I am just proud of my silly little (massive) tomato plant.

The leaves got a bit dry because I was away from my house for a few days a few weeks ago and I had no idea that tomato plants drink SO much water?! This thing drinks at least 2L of water every day somehow I have never seen a plant drink this much.

If anyone has tips about how best to pollinate this plant by hand let me know. I have a few indoor flowers now that I have been using to cross pollinate (i think this is the right term?) the tomato flowers but it would admittedly be nice to harvest more than I am currently getting. I plan to bring her outside once we officially enter spring in Canada so that professional pollinators can do the pollinating. I am also considering capping the height at 7’ since the plant is touching the ceiling now and curling downwards now because its just wont stop growing LOL
