First time grow, used a VGROW. It’s local to this top only. All the others look great.

Haha.. long ago, certain LED companies used to call these frost tips to cover the fact that their poorly designed products were bleaching people’s product.
They even circulated rumours that these were stronger and more desirable 😂

But yeah, it’s just light bleaching.

Think most of us get that one head that bleaches

That’s not mold or anything, it means you’ve taken perfect care of it, you’ve hit the jackpot to have that, it’s hard to find.

This happens, to my understanding, from lights having too much far red/red spectrum in general.

Dr. Bruce Bugbee has recently put out a few videos explaining this phenomenon and why it happens.

But long story short, the older LED style lights used to come with an imbalance of Red/Far Red spectrum diodes and as a result of too much red spectrum it causes bleaching in the tops like this.

This actually has no effect on potency or terpene loss and if anything just causes this odd “bleaching” effect you’re seeing.

This can be remedied in future grows by upgrading your light fixture to a more recent model/brand that have improved the ratio of different colored diodes.

Typically don’t want any more than 5-8% of your diodes to be far red/red spectrum if I’m not mistaken.
