The Rotch-Jones-Duff House & Garden Museum in New Bedford will offer guided tours this spring. For the price of admission, guests can join a 45-minute tour with an RJD docent, according to a community announcement.

Guests can learn about the museum and tour the new exhibition, “America’s 250th: Unraveling the Revolutionary Journey of William Rotch,” which is on display until August.

The tours are scheduled for 2 p.m. March 5 and May 7, according to the announcement.

Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for AAA members, seniors and students, and $3 for children ages 7-17. Members and cardholders of EBT, Connector-Care, WIC and Wunderfund receive free admission.

For more information, contact the museum at 508-997-1401 or email Lauren at lpothier@rjdmuseum.org.

The historic house, located at 396 County St., was built in 1834 for whaling merchant William Rotch Jr. The Greek Revival mansion sits on a full city block of formal gardens and is a National Historic Landmark.

The period rooms of the house reflect 150 years of economic and social evolution in New Bedford, as shown through the lives of the Rotch, Jones and Duff families and their staff.

The museum is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. Between Memorial Day and Indigenous People’s Day, it is also open noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.

The RJD gardens are open to the public at no cost from sunrise to sunset, seven days a week. Visitors are encouraged to visit rjdmuseum.org for the latest information on hours and programs.
