It's probably a stupid question, but I'm just curious if builders sand from a new house construction can be improved to be able to handle plants (native plants in WA). or would it have to be removed and replaced with proper sandy soil.
there is some yellow brickies sand, but it's mostly grey sand

I know clay can be added to sandy soils to increase CEC, water holding capacity and reduce hydrophobic conditions.
