Horticultural Highlights

 

The Chiswick House Camellia Festival

When: Late February through March

Where: The Conservatory

Details: This annual festival celebrates one of the oldest and rarest collections of Camellias in the Western world. Housed in the Grade I listed 19th-century Conservatory, the collection includes the unique Middlemist’s Red—one of only two known to exist in the world. Visitors can enjoy a burst of spring color with blooms ranging from deep reds to delicate pinks and whites.

Cost: Free entry to the Conservatory (donations welcome).

Kitchen Garden Reopening

When: From Thursday 5th March (save the date)

Details: While the formal gardens remain open year-round, the historic Walled Kitchen Garden officially begins its 2026 public season in early March. It’s a great chance to see the “seed to spoon” process and support local sustainable horticulture.

Half-Term Fun 

 

Bizzy Buddies Arts & Crafts Camp

When: Monday 16th – Friday 20th February | 9:00 am – 1:00 pm

Where: The Cricket Pavilion (Staveley Road entrance)

Details: A creative holiday camp for children aged 3–12. Activities include painting, drawing, clay modeling, and various arts and crafts projects to keep young minds active during the break.

Gardening Together: Half-Term Special

When: Wednesday 18 February | 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm

Where: Meet at the Gardens

Details: A family-friendly volunteering session where you can get your hands dirty and help the professional gardening team with seasonal park maintenance. A great way for kids to learn about nature firsthand.

Duck Pond Artisan Market

When: Sunday 1st March | 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

Where: Front of the House/Driveway

Details: A staple of the Chiswick calendar, this market features ethical, sustainable, and local producers. From handmade homewares to artisan food, it’s the perfect Sunday stroll destination.

Community and Creative Campus Tour

When: Thursday 26th February | 10:30 am – 11:30 am

Details: Join a free tour to see how the new “Community and Creative Campus” is taking shape. This ambitious project is creating new learning spaces and artist studios, with the new Learning Hub expected to open in June 2026.
