Hello,

i bought this monsonia peniculina in November 2024 but it seems not very happy under my care, cause he get sometimes new leaves and then drops them after a few weeks. Theres no really growth in 2 years, so something i do wrong.

Im living in germany, where my succulents usually in summer are all outside, so it gets decent light from june to august.

So, my question is, what can i do better? Shall i put the stem full in his soil?

Thanks for advice.

What were the roots like when you got it? Were they scanty?

I grow a few of them and always followed the Toshiro Mori advice on growing M.peniculina. [https://www.toshiromori.com/sarcocaulon](https://www.toshiromori.com/sarcocaulon)

You will be surprised how thirsty they really are. However, as a winter grower, they need max light exposure to stay compact.
