While Saturday brings the higher chance of light rain, Sunday is set to be drier with brief brighter spells.
On Saturday, February 7, conditions will begin partly cloudy before turning overcast through the morning.
Light rain is expected to develop from around mid‑morning, continuing intermittently into the afternoon with chances rising to around 60–70 per cent at times.
Temperatures will reach 10°C, though easterly then southerly winds of 6–11mph will make it feel closer to 6–7°C for much of the day.
Gusts may peak at around 22mph, and visibility may dip slightly under early cloud and drizzle before improving later on.
By the evening, conditions remain cloudy with a few lingering light showers possible, but winds will ease and temperatures fall to around 8–9°C.
On Sunday, February 8, the area will stay mostly cloudy, with overcast skies early on before some sunny intervals develop around midday.
Rain risk is far lower than Saturday, sitting between 10–20 per cent for the majority of the day.
Temperatures will again reach 10°C, with light winds of 5–7mph keeping conditions stable into the evening.
Overall, Welwyn Garden City and Hatfield are set for a grey but mild weekend, with Saturday the dampest day and Sunday offering short brighter spells.
Residents may still want a light waterproof on Saturday, though conditions are expected to improve slightly by Sunday.
