So its a 4ftx4ftx2ft paludarium with abt 20 gallons of water. Before now I kept a few aquariums with cool fish species, dumpy frogs, and years ago I had a leopard gecko, but don't plan on stocking anything in here till I know what would be best suited. I also have a few kinks to solve first before putting any living critters in here.
Im open to any frog, salamander/Newt, gecko, etc. Although my choices are way more limited due to current preferences.
Preferred**
– no live insects. I've done crickets, mealworms and dubia roaches before, and the most tolerable to keep were dubia but if possible id like to make this a lower mantinence build.
– frozen foods are fine, blood worms, crested gecko diet etc.
Yes I know not a lot of options with this much water and limited food options but I am serious about it, just want this build to be more peaceful over high maintenance. Depending on species I pick to keep in here I'll probably need to do more work with branches, large floating plants etc for drown risk prevention, and id also be maintaining water at the ledge level.
So far I was looking at/considering (one cool species + after seeing how the water parameters range ill likely add some smaller fish (unless its a newt))
– one day gecko
– fire bellied or Spanish rubbed newt
– crested geck? *wanna do more research comparing day geckos to crested
But yeah! Feel free to offer any advice for any cool critters in could keep that dont have a live food diet (that sucks to maintain) and any ideas for making them happy despite a deep water section!

Looks great
I vote Crested, they are so cute. I just got my first one. Might need some more hides and climbs for one though. I was thinking shrimp and a nice betta for the bottom?
Tbh I’m so sorry, but I don’t think any of those animals would do well in this tank. Paludariums suit semi-aquatic animals, none mentioned are, except for the newts, but in that case, there’s not enough floor space for them.
