The Door County Master Gardener February Growing Together Education Series will present a webinar, Rain Gardens 101, on Monday, Feb. 9, from 1:30 to 3 pm at Crossroads at Big Creek in Sturgeon Bay.

Master Gardener Karen Newbern will discuss what rain gardens are, how they function and how to establish them in residential situations. Plant lists and other resources will be available.

Newbern has worked as a naturalist for over 30 years, teaching all ages about natural connections, and is now the nursery manager at Door Landscape and Nursery in Carlsville, helping people create beautiful and sustainable landscapes with both native and non-native plants.

The Growing Together series of free educational programs provide information on relevant gardening topics for all levels of gardeners, from beginners to experienced. Hour-long programs will be held at 1:30 pm on the second Monday of each month at Crossroads at Big Creek, 2041 Michigan St. in Sturgeon Bay. A light refreshment social will follow for those who wish to socialize with fellow community members interested in gardening.
