Hi all, I recently completed a job in December to turf this lawn. The client has just got back to me and sent this photo over. The garden is north facing so gets very little sun but does anyone know why there are so many bare patches? And would I be best just going there and getting some seed down? Cheers.

Depending on temperature and humidity over-seed the lawn shade tolerant variety. (If too shady)

if there is enough sun to support a sun/ shade mix over seed with that.

Also i have seen sod become sparse like this due to overwatering. Essentially the thatch is rotting between the healthy crowns.

Ask client how much they are watering/ do a test.

Some clients will continue to water as heavily as they did at installation time and cause issues like this.

Well, it was done in December, it’s in a lot of shade, and the soil look a bit compacted.

    Take your pick I guess.

Grass looked very much still actively growing back in December, likely it has gone dormant and had some die back. Reasses come April/May when it has fully awaken from dormancy.
