Sorry, that’s what you get for doing zero due diligence. You sure know a lot about greenhouse construction but need to be more careful with your business decisions. I hope you learned from this.

We all get scammed at some point in our lives. Every time I buy a bag of chips I get scammed at the price vs what's in the bag. So sorry that this happened to you
Trustworthy people are easier to scam. It's hard for someone with a strong sense of ethics to believe people can be so awful.

Luke my brother has been in construction for over 25 years. It's nothing unusual for him to ask for 50% down. I'm so sorry to hear what happened to you. Karma will catch up sooner or later with these people…

1) I can't believe you didn't go to boot strap farmer and try to make a deal earlier, and 2) Don't just scrap that metal. Take it down but save the good pieces. That size of an operation, I'm sure you will be able to find use for some of it.
Recycle the metal, get some of your money back. A dollar is better than nothing.
i not near as trustworthy as you i would have never have paid money prior to the job being finished. and i always watch people working for me. for 6k that frame is obviously flimsy. id get a lawyer. you may not have ever got money out of this crook but you could have made his life miserable for a while
Thinking outside the box here but if the skeleton is still standing, how about using it as a trellis structure for your heirloom beans?
Sure you'd need a couple hundred eyebolts, a bit of drilling, and a mile or two of garden twine, but you are a smart cookie, you could DIY it better than "Charles".

Anyways, you mentioned in a video last year about sowing peppers earlier than ever about mid-February. How did that work out? Are you planning to repeat it, would you experiment with earlier, or have you found the eight o ten week reccomendation is still best?

God Bless Bootstrap Farmer! I need a greenhouse built, too, I'm just up in the Thumb. Fact: Most Michigan counties do not have building codes for greenhouses, unlike garden or tool sheds, etc. That's another way these scammers got away with it!

Danny at Deep south homestead and Pecan Grove channels has several high tunnels and greenhouses that hold up . I forget the brands. He still reinforces them further. What's there seems lacking in support.
My little greenhouse has more supports and all that Michigan snow hasn't been sticking.
