I rescued this plant from a person’s garage sale dumpster pile 1.5 yrs ago. It was growing parallel to the ground. I’ve never had a monstera and this thing is a beast! It’s growing like the plant in Little Shop of Horrors and is “eating” up the bedroom! I’ve done my best to train it to grow upwards but it seems so gangly. Is this normal? Should I trim some leaf stems off? How do I support its weight without impairing growth? I feel like I’m always tinkering with this thing to keep it from falling over!

I’m not exactly sure how to get it from toppling over unless it was in a pot that wasn’t wider on top and more top heavy, other than that, it seems to be very happy growing like that! It doesn’t have to be perfectly straight you can let it go back and forth a bit as it grows more but I’m sure someone else has better ideas for you!
She’s incredible 😍
They do need support, there monsters. If your bendy coir pole isn’t cutting it then use a plank of wood or trellis and connect the main stem (not the leaves). If it’s too tall, you can cut between nodes and toss in water to make a new plant
I have the permanent solution. I had to put a [6ft iron pipe from Home Depot](https://www.homedepot.com/p/Southland-3-4-in-x-6-ft-Black-Steel-Schedule-40-Pipe-584-720HC/100144060) smack dab in the middle of my Monstera pots to prop up my huge monsteras properly, attached with [plant ties](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B092DDHBNB). You can then connect a true [moss pole](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FDW5JWCF) filled with real [peat moss](https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/premier-peat-moss-0128p-2034024) to the iron pipe, then snake the air roots into it, and keep it moist. Keep up the good work! Jealous!
She is magnificent 😍
In the long run I don’t think it makes sense to try supporting this plant with any kind of “stick” in the pot: whatever fits in the pot probably won’t be able to take her weight. But you could maybe fix a hook in the ceiling and tie the monstera to it.
Wowww she is beautiful 😍
She looks like whatever you are doing is working. I see those 2 new beautiful leaves near the window.
